Mythical Beings

Cajal Bodies produces Mythical Beings, a long-form interview podcast published on Substack, taking each recorded conversation through editing, subtitling, artwork and release.

Mythical Beings is an interview show about people who changed direction. The four published episodes are with a lawyer who left the law to restore coral, a cabin-crew veteran of ten years who moved to the jungle, a dog trainer who stopped using treats after twenty-seven years and six thousand dogs, and an astrologer the show titles The Atheist Astrologer.

Cajal Bodies does the post-production. Four multitrack recordings came in raw and went out as finished episodes: edit passes that removed the sound checks, the filler and the long pauses, a repair to audio and video that had drifted out of sync, and burned-in subtitles cut locally rather than through the recording platform, because the platform's own captions could not be relied on to survive the export.

The written side ships with it: episode titles, show notes ready to paste, and a set of episode posters for Instagram drawn in a single cinematic direction so the four read as one show rather than four unrelated posts.

The show carries a sponsor credit for GaiaOne Boutique Diving.
