The merchandise department

Cajal Bodies runs a merchandise department for operators who do not want to run one themselves: design, sourcing, production, stock and fulfilment, on Kios, its own operations console. Its label is KIOS, a made-to-order house with seven chapters in its lookbook. Nothing in it can be bought yet: the first chapter, Kebun Karang, opens for pre-order on 1 November 2026.

The catalogue

KIOS sells in drops. A chapter opens for pre-order with a ship-by date, then closes and goes to print. Seven chapters are in the lookbook. Nothing in them can be bought yet: Kebun Karang is the first to open, on 1 November 2026, and the others have no date.

Every picture below is a render of a made-to-order piece, not a photograph of stock, because nothing is printed until it is ordered.

Kebun Karang was redrawn in colour in September 2026. The plate tee reads GaiaOne, Coral Restoration, Bira, Sulawesi over five of Haeckel's corals in flat colour on indigo. The rashguard is blue-black with rows of living coral down the sleeves, and a dive hair hood is cut from the same printed fabric. The cap is stone, with an outline coral embroidered in mengkudu red and sepia.

What it is

Cajal Bodies runs a merchandise line for an operator who does not want to run one: design and artwork, supplier selection, production, QC, stock, orders and fulfilment.

How it works

  • Make-to-order by default, so a print run is triggered by an order rather than a hopeful forecast.
  • Dual-sourced by plan: one maker in Bali and one in Kuala Lumpur, so that wherever a piece can be made in both, finished goods never cross a border. Neither is contracted yet.
  • A small capped buffer of proven sellers held at the counter in Bira, for a guest who is flying home in three days and cannot wait for a print run.

What runs it

Kios is the operations console behind the department: the catalogue, the orders from every channel, the production jobs, the stock movements and the per-brand figures, working on a phone where the signal does not.

Who is first

GaiaOne is the first brand, with its licence agreed in shape and not yet signed, and its chapter, Kebun Karang, is the first to open. Tevana House Reef, Seascapes Bira and Mythical Beings each have a chapter drawn in the lookbook, and none of those has a date. Freedive Sulawesi is planned and has not started.

Tell me when the first drop lands

No chapter is open for pre-order yet. Leave an email and hear about the first drop before anyone else does.

That email address did not look right. Try again?

Or subscribe on the KIOS store to hear about every drop first, not only the first one.

Questions people ask

Can I buy GaiaOne merchandise?

Not yet. The KIOS lookbook is open to read at kios.cajalbodies.com, but nothing in it can be bought until a chapter opens for pre-order. Kebun Karang, the GaiaOne chapter, is the first, on 1 November 2026. Leaving an email on /shop is the way to hear when it lands.

Who makes the merchandise?

That is being settled now. The plan is two makers, one in Bali and one in Kuala Lumpur, so that finished goods never cross a border. Neither is contracted yet.

Can Cajal Bodies run a merchandise line for my business?

Yes. Design and artwork, supplier selection, production, QC, stock, orders and fulfilment, run on Kios, the same console being built for GaiaOne.
